Submissions should reflect interdisciplinary, evidence-informed, and ethically sound approaches relevant to clinical and scholarly audiences. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript.

1. Language and Originality

  • All manuscripts must be written in English.

  • Submissions must be original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

  • Review Articles or Meta-Analyses (6,000–9,000 words)

Detailed structural guidelines for each article type are available on the IJPST website or by request.

3. Formatting and Style

  • Manuscripts must follow the APA Style, 7th Edition, including in-text citations, reference lists, section headings, tables, and figures.

  • Submit all manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Use 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.

  • Tables and figures should be placed at the end of the manuscript, not embedded within the text. Include clear titles and descriptive legends.

  • All images must be high resolution (minimum 300 DPI) and submitted as separate files in .TIFF, .PNG, or .JPEG format.

4. Title Page and Author Information

Submit two versions of your manuscript:

  • One anonymized version with no identifying author details (for peer review)

  • One version includes a separate title page containing:

    • Full manuscript title

    • Full names, institutional affiliations, ORCID numbers, and email addresses of all authors

    • Designation of the corresponding author

    • A brief 100-word biography for each author

5. Abstract and Keywords

  • Include an abstract of 150–250 words summarizing the article’s objectives, methods, key findings, and implications.

  • Provide 3 to 7 keywords for indexing and search optimization.

6. Ethical and Funding Disclosures

  • Authors must confirm compliance with recognized ethical standards relevant to their discipline.

  • For studies involving human participants:

    • Include a statement of Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval or ethical committee oversight.

    • Confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants.

  • Clinical case material must be fully anonymized unless written consent for publication has been secured.

  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial or institutional relationships that could influence the work.

  • Funding sources should be clearly stated when applicable, including grant numbers, sponsoring organizations, and any other relevant support.

7. Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.

  • Authors must ensure the main manuscript is fully anonymized, including removal of identifying information from file properties and metadata.

8. Publication Frequency and Access

  • The International Journal of Psychosexual Therapy is published twice annually, in digital and print formats.

  • Select articles may be published as open access to broaden public engagement and impact.

9. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain full copyright of their work.

  • Upon acceptance, authors will be asked to sign a non-exclusive license agreement with IJPST.

  • Open access publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license is available upon request.
